Evaluation

Thr project we had to do was create a board game box cover with three of our own creatures we made from photos we took and put in photoshop.

What inspired me was the beasts and monster we saw at Harry Potter studio tour, and the fact that I like mytholgy which has weird beings in it aswell like Chimeras, or Griffins. We also had to do research on Stonebridge farm and the animals there, this helped because It allowed me to think of combinations of animals I could do to make my creatures.

The box shape and size will be a rectangle with the measurements of 42x30. The game will be a Harry Potter style Monopoly game, with the creatures where creating being the playing pieces.
The unique design features for the game will be the images used , the creatures' that I will create for the game and the idea for my board game..

The color scheme will be dark blues and grey to partner up with the dark themes of Harry Potter.
The Target audience for my work as for 8+ so they would be able to understand the game and not be confused. The game can have up to five people and the minimum of two.
I thought of a name for the game which was Monopoly Harry Potter Creatures Edition.

The front cover would have a picture that took at harry potter studios of the pendulum I cropped the heads out so it would be focused on the Pendulum.
I thought of Ideas on what my creatures could look like. I wanted one of my animals to be a mixture of a bird and another animal.

The animal I wanted to Focus on where the Birds the cows and the Horse's so I could make unique creatures. The shots I took at Harry Potter world I used one which was the pendullem I used this as the background for the box cover, The shots I took at the farm where what I wanted because I was able to get bird pictures as well as the other animals I wanted to get shots off.

I made the Board cover in Photoshop and used the ruler tool to make the box guide lines, I then put the pendulem background on to photoshop over the the guidelines so it was centered.
I made the creatures in photoshop aswell combining two animals together and then using the blend tool to make a smooth transition between the seperate parts.
After combining the animals togther I added them to the cover.I then went onto find an approprite age rating and how many players could play the game symbol. I also went on to dafont and went to find a font to use for the game title. I chosse breath fire because it was quite similar to the original Harry Potter font.

I think I could improve in how the animals looked, I happy with the Horse duck, and cow Bird. But the third animal looks nothing like how I planned for it to look which was a Turkey head pon a cow body, It looks like a turkey head with a black smudge. I could improve by being more accurate around the animals and the head could be smaller so it doesn't take away half the the body of the cow.

Creating the creatures and boardgame.

This is a screen shot of the measurements  and where the green lines being where it would be folded to form the lid. I used Photoshop to get all the measurement for the box I then put the background image on. After putting the background image on I went on to Dafont to find a font to use on the box that looked magical. I used the font Breath Fire which had a fantasy look to it. I then went onto google and found the age rating for monopoly and how many people could play it.
After that I added the edited animals(creatures) on to the box cover.

With the animals the original pictures I adjusted the curves and levels of the images to make the picture brighter and have better lighting.  When It came to create the creatures I took the animals and used the pen tool to take the parts that I wanted to use from the animal and cut the rest out. The part of the animals I used I attached to the other animal and then used blend to make the transition of the different animal look neater and not obvious that it is two different animals thrown together.

Risk assessment -Trip to the farm(health and safety)

In this session we had to do a risk assessment on  what risks could happen on the way to  the farm and in the farm.

What could happen on the way to the farm

  • Drop camera in a puddle
  • Get attacked by a pigeon (it happens)
  • get hit by a car
  • slip on the wet surfaces
  • could get lost

What could happen at the farm.

  • Animals could bit/ kick you
  • Germs
  • slippery surfaces
  • drop camera/ tread in animal poop
  • weather/ rain could damage the camera
Mitigate= How to avert a crisis

How to counteract these problems.
Keep camera around neck and put a protective cover on it, Make sure to cross a crossings if possible if not look both ways, watch your footing so you don't slip, stick in groups so you won't get lost,
